No interest in Marner or Tavares. This team will be retooling, not trying to make the playoffs next year.

CGY isn't viewed as a contender and they have Huberdeau getting paid 10.5M. Not sure why Marner would agree to take a paycut and leave money on the table (1.5-2M/year) just to be the second highest-paid player on a mediocre team as the best player on the team. Trading for Marner doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the Leafs who are re-tooling considering that they would need to give up guys like Andersson and Markstrom (no offense to Wolf) that would help them compete now. Adding Tavares is not a great idea either.

you haven't listened to a single thing Conroy has said in any interview eh. just because you want a rebuild doesnt mean its happening. Conroy has specifically stated that thier goal is to make playoffs. flames have 19mil in cap space the chance they don't target 1 or 2 high priced players is next to nothing
