ELCs shouldn’t be included for an exercise like this

ELCs and 2024 UFAs should be separate.

I agree, I put in the description. I only put the ones that were probably going to make north of $7M+ on their next deal.

2024 UFA's are still technically under contract so. Would have also been tough because that takes away Nylander, Reinhart, Montour, Roy, Toews, Sorokin, & Swayman

Yeah but it's more apples to apples if you just avoid ELCs

There's many ELCs you could have added here, like Jake Sanderson for example

Without counting ELCs, I would have Drake Batherson and Mike Matheson

I would look at guys with term, especially younger players

Makar
Hughes
Hughes
Heiskanen
Connor
Bratt
Svechnikov
Robertson
Keller

I thought of that... but for some, it is tough to say if it is a great contract or not when it is 6+ years. There are so many of those that fizzle out on years 4-6. Svechnikov is one that scares me a bit

You get 30 extra points / year for the 3.5 mil difference. Plus Svech is a bandaid

Honestly, Nylander. Svechnikov has been hurt a lot recently and Willy scores a bit more than Svech.
