Description
Maybe add mid round pick to Hart

Yes, I believe Turcotte can be a valuable player still. He NEEDS to remain healthy that’s it; he plays well when he stays healthy. Maybe he’ll be better suited on the wing like Vilardi is now. Ironic. They both have suffered injuries and now Vilardi is playing like the player LAK drafted him to be. Some of these young kids need time.

Goaltenders are never worth 1st round picks, in the draft or via trade. No exceptions.

I mean Schneider went for 7OA (Horvat or Boesser) 🤔

Maybe ****emo/Turcotte and the 2nd this year 3rd next? That might be fairer.

Bobrovsky was had for 2nd and 2 4ths. I don’t think flyers make that mistake again. However Bob was blocked by Bryzgalov (spelling)

Not a fan of the Hart return personally but totally agree with ur Bob point. Flyers got burned by that trade, if they trade another franchise goalie it will be for a haul. I had everyone on here for the last month tell me Provy was barely worth a 2nd with retention and look how that worked out today? Everyone on here likes to think they are smarter than everyone else lol

And how did that deal work out for New Jersey?

As fans we have our own values for players which sometimes can be lower than a GMs or higher depending on the player until said player gets traded, then it’s like “really , that’s what the return was?!” Whether bad or good.

I think it was a bit much for Proverov however, kings had a large influence on how the trade went down having the need to “dump” players. Which resulted in more picks and a good prospect for PHI.

I agree but the Flyers have that same ability for whichever team wants to trade for Hart, they can take bad contracts to up the value of the return

At the time of the trade it was about equal. In the end he did not live up to expectations.

I think hart will be a better bet in the kings organization than Cory was in NJD. But that’s just me.

LAK as you know have done great with outside goalies coming in. Petersen well that was a stupid signing the minute pen to paper.

I hope they do land Hart for a lesser trade if he’s dealt at all. Kings should be all over him. I have a feeling he was part of the original trade but fell through somehow

I don't agree that the Petersen signing was a mistake. It was a gamble that didn't pay off.

However, that's my key point with goalies. They're very dependent on the team playing in front of them, and there's a lot of variance in their play from year to year. It's very possible that Hart comes into LA and flames out just like Petersen (and Schneider) did.

Goalies are never worth 1st round picks. Too risky.

I’d take the gamble. Would love to get Saros older but more established.

How do you know Saros would still be Saros if he wasn't playing on the Predators?

I don’t. That can be said with any player that’s traded.

But it's especially true with goaltenders.
