The return is OK but trading Matthews would cause a whole new TML curse where they would never win a game ever again!

What would you have traded prime Ovechkin for? You would probably say "I wouldn't". You will get the same answer from the Leafs.

Buddy won the Rocket and is nominated for the Selke at the same time. Has that ever happened before?

Yeah I agree that it would be very unlikely for Toronto to trade him, but the idea that anyone is untradeable just is not the case. Anyone can get traded if the value is there. Gretz got traded. Anyone can.

If Matthews were to be traded, your package is more than enough.

But I think it would be a bad move for both teams.

Def could be right. I tried to give up some stuff that the TML might need. Extra grit. Ryan Leonard will give the caps some of the wilson vibe. But this trade might not make enough of a difference right now for the leafs.

Anyone can get traded but Gretzky probably wouldn't have gotten traded if he played in the cap era unless he wanted out. Luckily for the Leafs, they don't need to trade Matthews to keep the lights on. If only Arizona had Matthews, then maybe they would still have a team.

Matthews is a top 3 player in the game. Frankly, Washington doesn't have anything that would get him.
