So make Lee even value, a no name prospect that’s already been traded, and a bust to move up from 27 to 11. How about no

we did the same less than a few months ago with Monahan. I do think that half-retained Lee in a small market with less pressure can be benefic to Anders. A big body would also helps Buffalo.

Monahan needed to show he could Bounce back, habs traded him a year and a half after his tradez to mâle hos value go Up, and then they signed him tona cheap Contract

Lee His better than Monahan at the moment of the trade, but for a swap like that je doesn't gain Much value when retained

Especially when you casualy dump Dvorak

I mean do you disagree? Wahlstrom has very little value. 23 year old still trying to crack the show along with injuries. Smilinac is an ECHL body at 22. Lee just had his worst season at 33, and will turn 34 before the next season. He may hold some value, but the other 2 sure don’t. Please explain if they do, and why a drop of 16 is warranted.

And a follow up: would you do Krebs, Skinner 3M retained, Kisakov, and 11 for 5? Waiting patiently for your reply.

Just confused - why would it cost the Islanders a first to turn Lee/Cizikas/Wahlstrom into Dvorak (worse value than Cizikas) & Justin Barron, but then the Habs can turn around and turn Wahlstrom & Lee (with retention) into a jump from #27OA to #11OA?

Based on your logic, couldn't the Isles just eat the cap on Lee's deal, staple Wahlstrom and #18OA to him, and move up to #8/9OA? Then they'd still have Cizikas instead of Dvorak - I don't think Barron is bad value, but as of now the Isles have Dobson/Pulock/Mayfield under contract on the right side and he doesn't really fit - so I can't see Lamoriello valuing him incredibly highly.

Well, why not, If the Islanders fans do not want to retain, Habs are happy to do so and jump up. Lee is not a garbage cap dump.

Lee is at 50% would you retain half of Skinner's contract?

Skinner is better, hence the 33%

tell me how many times did his front-net presence offer a goal, or how many times he did play in playoffs? Point is a thing, better, can be something else!

He’s younger and his decline isn’t nearly as sharp as Lee’s. You also didn’t respond to my other post about moving from 27 to 11 with relatively little incentive to do so

if that's the question. 2024 is not the biggest draft. the 16 drop is not that huge and yes Barron still holds value. We didn't demote him (nor was it the case with Xhekaj) we have 11 capable NHL d-men. So we used AHL for Barron to correct his d-zone touches with the puck (mainly head up and pass lines) and his approach as a defender (pace and place where to stand to defend). RHD is a rare thing in the NHL and therefore holds great value. A 23-year-old is not yet a bust, Goalie and Defenders take more time than a forward to develop. He's projected as a top 6 PP specialist with a top 4 upside if he can top all his skills to the limit. If the price is not as you wish we can also add Pittsburgh 2nd 2025 to sweeten the deal, we have seen many times deals with a young player + 3rd round pick to go top 15 (Romanov deal anyone?), so why a half-priced captain for 2 years with playoffs experience + a 23 years rhd wouldn't fetch more? (I'm not asking for a top5 )

That’s cool and all, except I stopped reading after the first sentence as Buffalo isn’t getting Barron. Hope it all works out well for you.

Lowest it can become is 25, as both NYR and Car cannot lose. But you are correct that it actually won’t be 27. 26 is most likely

How can you trade Barron for Lee, then trade Barron to Buffalo with Lee. Unless you have cloned Barron

replace Barron in the first deal because you think the second deal isn't fair. That's why I'm doing AGM, since you guys play the bingo card, I'm playing the wackoko !

I mean I wouldn’t personally do it, but Barron isn’t on the Bingo card of descriptions. He’s a fine player imo. Kinda in the Krebs tierish
