Six million for roy and 5 million for kane seems a bit strange

Rather trade for Andersson and Markstrom, we can get Theodore as a UFA in '26 he's definitely not staying in Vegas

Liljegren is too soft for the Canucks D core.

Theodore will be the top UFA D more than likely and the Leafs probably won't have the cap to sign him but even if they did he's likely signing elsewhere. Best chance to get him is to trade for him.

Hate the idea of trading Marner for a goalie or a goalie being a significant part of the return (rather trade for Filip Gustavsson), but I would agree that I would rather have Andersson + Markstrom (if there's some retention) over Theodore+Hill, just because Andersson is a RHD (and is only a year older than Marner vs two) and Hill is injury prone and only has one year. I don't think CGY would go for Marner (or that he would go there), or that Vegas would give Hill. Probably Theodore + Roy + a pick or Karlsson so that they have space to extend Marner but also pay a goalie the following year.

I wouldn't hate trading Marner for Shane Wright + Larsson even though that only gives them a temporary fix for the RD position but they get a potential long-term 2C solution (possibly 1C if Matthews walks) and it would be less painful to see Marner have success elsewhere down the road. Seattle probably doesn't do that deal but who knows.
