Moving 10th and Holtz
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>I'm higher on Montembault than most outside of MTL.
What beyond 17th overall would consist of a gross overpay in your eyes?</div></div>
i think switch to pick to the 10th overall. i Know he is probably not worth that, but i thinks thats the minimum of a ''too good to pass offer'' given the assets NJ has.
On NHL game 24 your offer would be more than enough, but the habs are not looking at all to move him and i dont think they trust their back up or their young goalies enough to go on without monty.
I might be mistaken but im going off on Hughes comment about the direction of the team. im not saying i necessarely agree with it.

Moving 10th and Holtz
it would be kin if funny that new jersey ends up having both of your goalies , but unfortunaly, we need our starting goalie.
Apperently they want to compete next year for the playoffs, so it would probably take a gross overpay to move him.

David Ettedgui saying Montreal targeting Holtz for Struble and 5th
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Tony Marinaro on his podcast:
“There’s been a lot of talk about one guy, Alexander Holtz. And I can tell you, one team wants him badly, and I mean BADLY, because I'm sure there's a couple of teams that would take him. The Montreal Canadiens want Alex Holtz BADLY. Believe me when I tell you that. They’re not trading Nick Suzuki and they’re probably not trading Cole Caufield. I don’t know how much they’d be willing to give up, but they’re offering some players right now. I’m talking about defenceman Kaiden Guhle, defenseman David Reinbacher, forward Juraj Slafkovsky. They want Alexander Holtz BADLY, and it doesn’t mean it will be a ‘one-vs-one’ deal. They will spice it up by throwing in other players or picks, but I can tell you right now, based on what I’m hearing, that the Canadiens want Holtz BADLY.”</div></div>
you can mark my words when i tell you this. Tony Marinaro has no insider knowledge whatsover.
I think there is a world where habs are interested in Holtz for sure, but looking back at what Kent hughes did in the last few years, does he seems like a guy to trade ghule or reinbacher? Thats how you know Marinaro is full shi....

San Jose Sharks signed Will Smith (3 Years / $4,150,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>you are confusing a generational player like Crosby or McDavid with a franchise level player, they are not the same.
4-5 in the last 20 years is bogus. In any decent draft year there is at least 1 FP available. Some years people get lucky and there are 2.
It also isn't always that they turn out to be the 1OA. Pettersson in VAN for example. Or Panarin who went undrafted. Stutzel (who should have gone 1OA at the draft even at that time) is another example.
As opposed to say a Hughes, or Bedard who goes 1OA.
So it's not just 4-5 in the last 20 years.</div></div>
ok so there is more than 1 franchise players each draft, and i agree with that. So there is more than one, you just dont know it at the time of the draft...
do you see the problem with your argument now? how can you know if celebrini is one or not.

San Jose Sharks signed Will Smith (3 Years / $4,150,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>you clearly didn't read.
all odds show you need a franchise level player to be a real contender, they don't have one. Keep losing, keep drafting high, or you'll be a muddling team.
How hard is that to understand.
Why make it hard on yourself? You are at the bottom of the league, stay there, tank, get the player you need. Then worry about winning.</div></div>
well thats what im saying... im reading you quite well. How many franchises players are beofre the drat? 4-5 in the last 20 years? odds shows you need good players, most team dont have what you call a franchise players. odds shows you dont need one according to you, even with matthews and mcdavid, they are not winning the cup.
sharks are still gonna be bad for years to come. its a lottery, you just need to be happy when you win it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>Celebrini is one of the lowest level 1OA in years. Many scouts have pointed that out. This is not a great draft.
He graded out lower than Bedard in CHI, and Beniers in SEA who was 2OA and is graded out as a 1st liner not franchise level talent.
He's also already graded lower than the next two years 1OA who are already known.
I don't really know how else to break that down for you. He's not that guy. Not saying he's not going to be a decent player. High possibility he is.
But he's not that guy.
You can be mad about it all you want, I just don't get the joy of heading a team dead set into mediocrity. They are already at the bottom.... keep tanking... that should be the goal. Not playing the youth. **** sit them in the AHL if you have to. Keep tanking.</div></div>
I really dont get what you are complaining about? They get the best player from the draft but since he is not gtaded as good as bedard, mcdavid or crosby, the sharks are gonna be bad for years to come? That what i understand from your arguments.

thats true, i like rossi a lot. i think in terms of value its Mtl first, then by a very slight margin minesota's pick then rossi. I'm just saying using pick value for drafted players is not very accurate.
