The likelihood of the Canes trading for Allen pretty much faded away with the roster freeze. The chances they trade for a cheaper stop gap rental instead of someone with another year is much higher. Maybe Allen would be a better fit with EDM or NJ

Don't see the value there for the Isles - they don't really have anywhere to play Harris with Dobson, Pulock, Pelech, Mayfield, and Romanov. Isles need wingers and forwards not more D.

montreal wont be paying anyone to take away 'dead space' or 'bad contracts'
habs are actively SHOPPING for those types of returns

rebuild = acquire assets, sell vets.

nows for futures.

like.. if dvo was on pitt, we would happily take dvo AND a 3rd for future considerdations.
