No, I don't hate Marner, I hate his work ethic compared to the rest of those guys. How many times a year do Leafs fans complain about him not being engaged when he is slumping or even just in general? Marner easily has more skill than the other guys but we aren't talking most skilled here, we are talking best and for me that includes always being engaged, it's kind of the deciding factor for me. Especially since we had to deal with Droin for so long

hating the work ethic of a selke candidate and elite penalty killer doesnt really make much sense. hes the best defensively out of all of them and best production wise out of all of them. he is the best winger here and should be on the first line on this team, saying its a toss up between him and verhage is just clown worthy

just so it is known I put Marner on the third line for the sake of thats where he showed up when I added him and I just didn't change him. while I do think he is arguably the 2nd best winger out of the players here I don't think he is has earned the title of being the #1 as Tkachuk is the best winger on this AGM but it is semi close

Marner : 569 games 193 goals 437 assists 637 points 1.12 points per game while being waaaay better defensively and an elite penalty killer.
