His cap hit is way too high
We have to pay Byram, Quinn & Peterka after this season
We are pretty unlikely to add a big contract

I just don't think the need for another defenseman is as high as many external fans think. 2nd offer isn't bad but they'll probably just sign a cheapish free agent
