Every Marner trade is going to be bad value. Any time you trade a first line winger who is like top 5 at his position, you are probably going to lose the deal. Thats without even factoring the NMC.

The value add is either in getting someone who is a near perfect fit for the next HC or squeezing as much cap room as possible.

Who knows, maybe Seth Jones is Berube's favourite defenseman

If S. Jones every wears a Leaf jersey I know they'll continue to suck.

Any Marner trade is a good one for the Leafs. Addition by subtraction.

Idk, he was once highly touted. And his numbers have bounced back pretty well on a bad Chicago team.

Agreed....Either they make no sense to Leafs, the other team or Marner. Very few good trades proposed that satisfy all three parties.

Laughable.

Marner didn't miss any playoff games with his bad ankle.

Matthews, I got a tummy ache, I'm taking 2 games off.

Nylander, I got a headache, I'm taking 3 games off.

The team has so much deeper problems than removing a Top 10 RW'er from their team.

Also Marner wasn't always a soft player, only under Keefe did he LEARN to be a diva.

Give the new HC a chance to do his job.

Keefe was NEVER a coach, he was a cheerleader to the top 3 young stars.

That's because the Leafs can never get fair value in a Marner trade.

He makes too much money with a bad playoff reputation.

His dad and agent are money grubbing ****s.

He's essentially a rental with 1 year left on his contract.

He seemingly has no interest in leaving Toronto and isn't going to waive his NMC.

So the vultures are out and are only interested in making 1 sided, lowball fantasy land trades which is essentially why CFACGM exists.

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Please stop trading him to CBJ.

He’s not worth/wont get traded as a rental.

He’s not worth/wont get traded for his inevitable $12M x 8 contract.

He also has never played a game without high-end centers on his line. So unless im a team rocking a top-tier C, I’m extremely weary about trading for him.

As a CBJ fan, trust me, we know.

Marner played with first with Bozak (before Babs was fired) and Kadri before JT and than Matthews.

He was becoming a ppg player helping Kadri to back to back 30+ goal season before Marner helped JT in his first season there with nearly 50 goals.

Good for him. I still wouldn’t want him on his next contract.

And, again, find me some ACGMs where everyone is happy.

If you can’t, that should tell you where the market is on Marner.

*sigh*
If Marner didn't have a NMC I can tell you 20 + teams would be calling.

You can say what you will about his playoffs performance (still has the most points all time compared to the other 4 core members, lol ) but where Marner's value has always been (and why Shanahan probably vetoed any trading of him) is merchandise money (Spaceballs forever!!!)
