If Nashville is trading for Marner they need to move some of their forwards out since a lot of their young guys lose waiver exemption this summer

I think Marner for Saros would actually be a pretty solid 1-for-1 swap. One of the best goalies in the league for one of the best forwards in the league. One year remaining on each. Plus Saros is on a team-friendly contract for next year, while Marner is one of the highest paid players in the league.

Not sure why Nashville has to add picks.

Extension in place maybe but yeah, I don’t see Nashville adding all that on top

I don't think either team considers a swap without an extension in place on their acquisition.

Spending that much on a winger does not make sense for NSH

First, highly unlikely Minten and Cowan are NHL ready in October. Same with Quillan and Tverberg/ Domi can play centre. Keep Jarnkrok at the forwards are set for a 22 man roster. Now let's Lauzon stays a Pred.

A basic 5m Saros for 11m Marner swap. Leafs have then 6m to fill out the roster. Would Nashville add? Do the Leafs have any leverage?
Personally I wouldn't mind Saros and Marner straight up. Seems like god Marner is not wanted by the Leafs

Why is jarnkrok involved in this? Theres already so much cap coming Nashville’s way with Marner.

I guess we move them for a center or rhd upgrade.

Lauzon is clearly more valuable to Nashville than Jarnkrok would be, and Nashville let Jarnkrok go for a reason, so this is clearly an overpayment by the Preds by at least the first and probably more.

No I think a deal for Marner would be more around those players than picks. Toronto has pretty mediocre depth

Something like Marner + Liljegren for Saros + Fabbro + Tomasino + 1 of Parssinen or Glass

I only put them there because I want the focus to be on the trade, not any signings

Well fabbro and glass could definitely be had as Brunette doesnt seem overly fond of em. Tomasino as well for the right upgrade would be on the trade board. I think theyd rather keep Pärssinen. So something could probably be done along the lines of Saros+Fabbro+glass+tomasino for marner+Liljegren
