Canucks would say yes to this. Your main issue though is that Hronek most likely won't sign for 6.5 million.

I fear we're running the risk of overrating Byram. His impacts were really poor last year after his hot start

Hawks easily decline. Value wise, swapping #11 for #20 and #34 is a fair trade. Hawks definitely aren't taking Skinner for free.

I highly doubt anyone is giving up on him after 18 games at the end of a dead season

No, and nobody should be giving up on him, but everyone is kinda penciling him in as a top pairing defenseman already when he's far from a sure thing
