His stats, to start the season, are uneven but they don't tell the entire story. His defensive detail, locking on his man in his zone for example, has been reliable but breakdowns around him have led to pucks in the back of Carolina's net. He hasn't had a ton of puck luck. The team is rotating trying to find a partner to compliment his style of play.
