You’re cute. We’ll be contending while the Blue Jackets are going through another rebuild (after the current one) when nobody wants to re-sign in Columbus.

That’s an overpay for Necas. You’re not trading for what you think he might be, you’re trading for what he is and that’s a 60 point 2nd line winger.

Wtf is this? Habs give up the much younger, better player and also gives up the better pick? This is laughable. You’re not getting Guhle for Ehlers. Ehlers is a net negative player in the playoffs also, might as well not even put him on the ice.

Yeah you could go either way. It’ comes down to contract length for me. Toffoli could get a 3-4 year deal. Could probably have Perron at 1-2 years. Less risky and keeps more flexibility.

Slafkovsky is going to be a superstar. You watch him once and you will realize that.
Zegras is a talented player, he could become a secondary guy that you want to shelter on a 2nd line, or he could become a Panarin, Pastrnak level player. It’s up to him. What I know is you’re not getting a top 5 pick or equivalent for him. He was picked 9th. If the Ducks could redo that they would pick someone else. They’ll get a very good return, but it’ll most like be for a top 4 right D almost straight up, or for a collection of futures. Depends what someone is willing to offer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>In 31 games, 11 of which he was healthy, Zegras was a -1 in plus/minus with 15 takeaways and 16 giveaways. In the final 11 games that he was healthy, he scored in line with his career rate and was a +4. As for his counting stats behind down, he had Osteitis Pubis most of the season, same thing that kept Logan Couture out all year.
Turnovers are down, takeaways are up, +/- is way up, some might call that <strong><em>Player Development</em></strong></div></div>
Plus minus is a mostly irrelevant stat that requires a lot of context. Those takeaway rate is normal for him. The giveaways is a good sign but it’s a short sample. Overall he has a really bad season.

You know what Zegras is. He’s an overrated black hole away from the puck and even when he has the puck he constantly turns it over to avoid contact. We all know the positives about his game, but those mean nothing unless the negatives disappear. That’s not guaranteed to happen.
There is a reason they’re going to trade him. Anaheim fans want to act like he’s Pastrnak… he’s FAR closer to Laine,

We've been over the pieces that would be of interest on the habs roster. This year's top 10 pick, Reinbacher, or slafkovsky. Outside of those pieces, we've no interest in loosing Zegras, one of them would be required as the base of the trade.</div></div>
Even bringing up Slafkovsky is insulting.

Doesn’t matter what he thinks though. If they want to trade him they will and with him currently on the 3rd pairing making 8 mill they will probably want to sooner than later. Especially with Schneider there to take his spot.

I’m not a big fan of Zegras, but if management wants to acquire him it will be because they think St. Louis can get him to another level with his play away from the puck. If they do this is the type of package I would want us to trade for him, rather than Guhle like some have suggested.
He would easily be the most skilled player on our roster, it’s all about whether or not he’s willing to improve his overall game. We won’t trade for him unless we’re convinced he will.

Nah a high price to pay for Zegras would be Ghule. Trading only a late 1st, 2nd and a couple D prospects who will likely never play for us isn’t a big deal.
And Anderson absolutely would cost that much to move. We don’t need to move him yet, but we have the picks so why not.

I am just not sure why the Flyers would move one from a 24 yo with this kind of upside; the case was much clearer for the Avs.</div></div>
I think it’s just time for a change for Farabee. I think he would want that. He played the last 10 games on the 4th line in Torts dog house. He’s not a fit in his system that relies on dump and chase, high energy and relentless puck pursuits on the forecheck. He’ll be a much better fit in our system which is more about gaining the zone wirh possession and keeping possession.
I’m also not saying the upside is star player, but he is a top 6 lock. The perfect high end 2nd liner. That is a piece we’re looking for. He also has connections through Hughes having played in the Boston collegiate systems. It’s a no-brainer buy low option for us.

I tried to go quality over quantity but Habs strength is at D, specifically left D and so is Anaheim’s. Maybe they consider taking all of that draft capitol and turning it into a different player in a separate deal.
