miller time baby
A 2025 1st that could very easily be late and a bunch of scraps isn’t close to getting Miller
How about the Canucks 2025 1st, Lindholm’s UFA rights, Bains, Juulsen, an 3rd, and a 4th for McAvoy?

Canucks pass. They aren’t taking back a bad contract if they move Hronek. If they move him it’s likely for a proven top 6 winger

Not even close. EP40 isn’t being traded, but any hypothetical trade for him involves either Tage++ or Dahlin coming to Vancouver

Another good potential target from Philly would be Farabee. Not sure if they’d be willing to move him though

Would much rather keep Mikheyev than take on Anderson, even if we’re getting Barron
Pass on the Carolina trade. The gap between Necas and Garland isn’t that big. Definitely not worth giving a 1st, 3rd, roster player, and taking on a major cap dump

Canucks take that and run. Canes would never do that though
All three trades are pretty horrible for Carolina

Big Game Hunting
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>thebiggere</b></div><div>I think you need to be a little more realistic about EP40's performance, both off and on the ice. Saying he's had great numbers before the Allstar break is misleading. That's not the kind of competition level that exists in the last 3rd of the season and playoffs. Taking it further, come playoffs he didn't look like a professional, let alone a 1st line center.
Regardless of either of our opinions, I'm just trying to see how the Canucks could make it work if they're actually going to re-sign Lindholm.
Seems that theyre trying hard to do so. It cant be that they keep Lindholm, Pettersson and Miller at center.</div></div>
Yes he struggled in the playoffs. But he was playing through a knee injury and was mostly playing on a line with Mikheyev, Lafferty, Karlsson, and Hoglander who was struggling as well. Notice how much better he got when he was playing with Lindholm or Miller? Also remember how well he did in the playoffs in the bubble?

Rumor Mill trades for off season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Not really. It's basically a TDL return on value for a full year and neither player gives Winnipeg anything they need and the Jets need to wait 2 drafts for the 1st. There's no chance the Jets trade Ehlers for a rental return this summer, he'll be traded somewhere he's willing to extend if he's moved now.
Maybe check back at the TDL if he's still available.</div></div>
If they don’t want a winger in return that’s fair. But I’d argue it’s more than TDL value
Guentzel didn’t get a guaranteed 1st. Obviously Pittsburgh got quantity but you could definitely argue the 2025 1st and Hoglander are both better than any piece Pittsburgh acquired for a better player
Toffoli returned a 2nd and 3rd and he had pretty similar production to Ehlers over the previous 2 seasons (Toffoli had 60 goals, 117 points in 143 GP prior to trade. 0.42 GPG, 0.82 PPG. Ehlers has 37 goals, 99 points in 127 GP the last 2 seasons. 0.29 GPG, 0.78 PPG)

Big Game Hunting
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>thebiggere</b></div><div>EP40 has through next season without a NMC. Of course you can trade him. Just like they considered trading him before signing him.
Do you really think this management team is impressed by a guy who refused to talk to them about a new deal, then when he got outmaneuvered to the point that he was forced to talk contract got so buttsore that it derailed the rest of his season?! Sorry, but tendanitis doesn't explain his post contract play. EP40's problems are between his ears, You can gush about his talent all you want, but it doesn't count for anything when the guy can't put it together when it matters.</div></div>
Pettersson had 72 points in the first 55 games of the season before his injury (107 point pace). He had over 100 points last season. He just extended for 8 seasons at what was widely regarded at the time as a team friendly deal. You don’t trade somebody like that
Too many Canucks fans like yourself are over reactionary and have a lot of recency bias. Remember how many Canucks fans wanted to move Miller when he was struggling last season? Remember when Canucks fans wanted to move Boeser when he was struggling? It’s the same situation with EP40, and when he bounces back next season all his doubters will be quiet and act like they never doubted him

We just aren’t trading Pettersson at all. You don’t trade a 25 year old franchise Center you just extended for 8 seasons. Any hypothetical Pettersson trade with Buffalo has to include either Tage++ or Dahlin coming back

He just had the best season of his career after being traded for a mid 1st and an earlyish 2nd. He’s worth a lot more than you’ve proposed here
