Campbell's contract is horrible. It will cost at least a first-round pick to get out of, not to mention the Sharks giving up Blackwood as well.

Originally I had a first round pick in there, I took it out thinking it might be to much given Bourgault has a fair amount of upside to be a top 6 forward in the NHL with good speed, good scoring ability and has some above average defensive capabilities. It will cost a lot to take that deal and Edmonton needs to find a way out to gain some more space. I could see teams asking for at minimum Broberg, 1st round pick and Bourgault per say, which is a lot but cap space is the most valuable thing so I might’ve been off quite a bit for sure.

Is Bourgault on track to be a good NHLer? He was fairly unproductive in AHL this season

I see him as a good 2nd line guy in the future. He skates well and has some speed, can be productive offensively and has some good defensive instincts. He might become a 40ish point 15 goal producer in the NHL but be solid option on both the 2nd Power play unit and a good Penalty killer in the future.

You're vastly over-estimating Bourgault's value. He's a mid first round pick that up 20 points in the AHL in his D+3 season. I'm not sure I would even trade a 3rd round pick for him straight-up.

Quite right. Edmonton isn't doing either of those trades.

LOL. The deal would have more value to Edmonton if Blackwood wasn't included. He isn't worth his cap hit, Edmonton can get better goaltending simply by re-signing Pickard for $1M.
