Description
I KNOW there are some bananas takes here. I am curious what y'all think. Is a Tavares-Ullmark deal possible and if so, what does it take if not this? What about the Lundell deal, I know Florida values him but Marchands grit and cheap cap $ make him a killer Panther and with Florida's cap constraints, it may be wortwhile. Maybe. Let me know what to fit, scrap, or even add if there is a player who you think should be included or replaced here!

Trades

BOS
  1. Lundell, Anton [RFA Rights]
FLA
  1. Marchand, Brad ($1,850,000 retained)
2.
BOS
  1. 2025 2nd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
In need of a defensive fwd, coyle fits the mark at a low acquisition cost and killer season
3.
BOS
  1. Robertson, Nicholas [RFA Rights]
  2. Tavares, John ($5,500,000 retained)
  3. 2026 1st round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Leafs actually retain only $2.75m, rest done through a 3rd party trade. Big ? if his NMC kicks in and he nixes it but it would give him a fresh chance at a cup and a chance to be a role player rather than being stuck on a losing team as a cap dump. 1st rounder and Robertson both pays for taking on JT who has widely been seen as a player you pay to take on, not pay to acquire, and for Ullmark, who can immediately step in with Woll as a tandem.
TOR
  1. Ullmark, Linus
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (BOS)

No chance JT waived, or Leafs trade him in division. Can’t see the bruins trading Ullmark in division either

Even though it would never happen, I lowkey love that BOS-TOR trade. Call me crazy but I'd be happy to throw in a 2nd and a sweetener for Coyle to make the trade as following:

TOR revieves Ullmark, Coyle, 2025 3rd

BOS receives Tavares (5.5M retained), Robertson, 2026 1st, 2026 2nd, 2024 5th (assuming we recoup draft picks by shipping off a Liljegren-esque player or in Marner trade)

"Detroit needs a defensive forward".

Negative. Detroit needs defensive defensemen.
