Core 4 isnt leaving

Description
People fail to understand NMC's on this site apparently. None of the core 4 forwards are moving, better figure something else out. Need to spend the money from Brodie/Bert/Domi/etc better and really need contribution from one of their kids, probably Cowen. Also desperately need a puck mover D. I'm sure they'd love a Pesci or Tanev shut down guy to play with Reilly but that's probably not in the budget

I 100% agree. Everyone in TOR right now is upset and understandably so. Doesn't mean start trading away quality pieces for pennies on the dollar. It's worth going at it 1 more time. If TOR makes a deeper run...then maybe something can happen next off season.

Not sure Demelo signs for that cheap, but that's a different point. He hasn't made his huge NHL contract yet and this will likely be his last opportunity to make super big money.

Maybe Unpopular unpinion amongst Blues fans, but I would take this.

Idk. Lily and Robertson really don't hold much value at all, then a first around 20th.

Feels underwhelming and could/should get more

Thats fair. I'm in the camp that we should trade Buchnevich, long term I don't necessairily see need to keep him in our Top 6, unless we eventually push Neighbours down to 3rd line. His value isn't two first anymore unless he commands a lot of attention in the offseason and there is a bidding war.

CFACGM exists for fans to make fantasy land trades and lowball UFA signings.

You could post 100 CFACGMs a day saying what you just said and it won't matter.

See the fictional Marner trades.

NMC's and NTC's are totally ignored on here. 🙄

I agree in trading Buch. Get good value while you can.
Then top two lines in the near future are Bolduc, Neighbours, Thomas, Kyrou, Snuggy, and Dvorsky. Buch is a luxury item right now but if trading him nets a good return that speeds up the retool and adds youth, I'm all for it. Unless he signs a reasonable extension around a 6x6.5 then keep him. anything north of 7.5 for 6+ years may be too rich

100% agree with everything you said. I think he deserves more than 6.5 to 7.5 but we shouldn't be the team to give him that. It needs to be a team that can make use of him now.

I think we just need to trade him and then go for a bunch of buy low targets that are young with potential. I see the likes of Wahlstrom, Holtz and Kaliyev as great buy-low targets. Slot them on the second and third line and see if they can produce some solid results. We just need to get younger and while we attempt to offload some of these contracts.

Buch is a great player, but I can't see him signing anything less than a 7x7 which I think is a bit much here in our current state. May not be competitive until year 3 or 4 of that contract and he would be in his mid-30s

It’s a little underwhelming and if the blues do trade him I’d probably want a little more in the end. But……I would take it if it’s our best offer.
