My point exactly, if Shanny and Tre try to push Marner into giving up a team list, he'll place all the teams who have zero cap space or interest in him or Division rival on that list. Turning it into a non factor.

No, the Leafs should have had this talk with Marner during this year's end of the season player exit interview.

And both Marner and the Leaf management should have closed to the door shut when Marner said his goal is to be a Leaf.

It's amazing that these trade rumors are still happen even though Marner said he wants to be a Leaf next year, with his NMC, no one can force him out of town.

We've seen plenty of cheapshots already in this years playoffs and players are getting away with it.

The NHL is too weak on discipline that it's a joke.

That's why Marner is "too soft" and cries on the bench, because in the playoffs it's not skill which determines which team wins, it's which team can cheat the most.

Well I watched most of the playoff games but I wasn't paying that much attention to Marner. But I remember Kadri getting suspended quite a bit. I'm not a Leafs fan but I'd take Marner over Kadri a top 6 forward that can get suspended for a month because he can't keep his anger in check. But if Marner is the scapegoat and they choose to move him I get that.

Fan and media theory of which Core 5 (w/ Rielly included) member must go Marner is the easiest target, in previous years it could be said Nylander, as he was a floater in the playoffs (avoids contact and high traffic area's and hope that a team mate does the hard work to set him up for a goal) but with that shiny 8 year contract he won't be a scapegoat.

Nylander has stepped up his production over the past couple of seasons.

Nylander still isn't worth $11.5 million, everybody whined that Marner got overpaid by $1.5 million when he signed for $10.9 million, but Nylander's new contract is also $1.5 million of an overpay, just wait a couple of seasons to watch Leaf Nation turn on him.
