This roster was focused on cap flexibility for Matthews/Nylanders extensions while changing their d-core per treliving and re-stocking the cabinets

Signings:
Sammy will get similar deal to Vancek, Hart, Ned, and Georgiev 3.4 x 3 years
Josh Bailey depth signing league min
Leafs will probably have to utilize waivers for depth goalie come season start or sign/bury stalock

Additional Details:

Currently Chicago only has 4 nhl defensemen...I think Brodie is still a very capable d-man and can provide them a 1st round pick + come trade deadline time if they retain part of his salary...essentially a 2/3 rd for this years 1st rd and a pick swap of fourths

This allows the leafs to move on from the 5M cap hit this year and get different D that treliving wants

Additional Details:

This trade essentially is getting a different D for the right side...the two defensemen are in the same age group with lily being 2 years younger...however I believe Borgens future deal could come in @ less value than Lilys extention next year

Lily is a great D-man, but i think the leafs need to pivot to a mid-pairing D with more bite and defensive stability

Lily has great upside still and can provide seattle good mins now and provide some offensive touch to the seattle d-core for then the next year

I believe the most logical solution is the leafs are going to buyout Murray, but in the case Anaheim deals gibson, maybe a 33% retained murray can be moved out with a sweeter...Real money would be 5M so Leafs still need to overpay sweetener...Anaheim can also chose to buy out murray aswell after acquiring

This deal would only be made to save leafs the 2M cap hit next year with Matthews/Nylander extensions and potential retention of new UFAs

Highly doubt they move brodie or lilijgren since they are favs of keefe murray really the only guy that will be moved at this point
