Why does PITT need a more offensive D than Graves when they have Karlsson and Letang?

A lot of Leaf fans on Twitter say they would just be happy to get the cap space for Mitch.

For Dubas and Sullivan’s philosophy, they want all 6 defencemen and all 12 forwards to be finesse players & capable of contributing offensively.

That was his motto in Toronto.

But he didn’t have many options, he was forced to go all in at every deadline.

Hopefully in PIT he will be allowed to use more patience, I haven’t seen it.

If the second was removed Vegas could say yes to that proposal. Otherwise the rest are going to say no.

I think you misread what I wrote since Graves and Girard are Dmen as well, If not then I don't know what you mean by "on the back end (tail end of their careers?). He was saying he wants a more offensive defenseman than Graves as the explanation for the Girard-Graves trade.
