Yeah blues decline. Nothing in that offer the blues would want for Parayko. And Marner is not getting Jarvis and Slavin

One year of Tkachuk got one year of Huberdeau and one year of Weager and a first.

The same reason you want trade to Marner....get rid of cap and sign Jarvis long term.....is the reason Canes don't do that trade. Jarvis should get more in a long term deal.

Why give up so much for an 31 year Parayko. Just sign a UFA short term,.

Kampf and Reeves aren't on LTIR.,

Parayko is a good defenceman, but he's 31; injury prone and making 6.6 till the end of the decade. Don't get me wrong he is still a top pair defenceman, but the term diminishes his value significantly in a trade IMO. Liljergren + Robertson are two young peices for a re-tool and you add a 1st. Toronto declines

Parayko has played 82, 79, 80 games the past 3 years. His back injuries happened in 2020. Another big thing is the blues love Parayko,. He's our best defensemen and we don't want to trade him. We are fine with his term and contract. We have no incentive to get rid of him at all. He's one of the guys we want to keep through our retool/rebuild. The pieces you mentioned are pieces we wouldn't value as much as Paryako. Maybe the blues overvalue him compared to everyone but he's that important to our team. So it's a no for the blues

Marner wouldn’t return 1 of Slavin or Jarvis, let alone both. Necas and a 1st is likely the best offer on the table for Marner from the Canes, and a 3rd party would need to eat about half of Marner’s deal to make the money work.

I don't think Marner will return that, but I don't know how/why it can't be a similar return to the Tkachuk trade. Marner is a better player now than Tkachuk was at the time. Marner has been the better player his entire career outside of one season (22-23). If traded, Marner will likely come with an 8-year extension (like Tkachuk). Not to mention BOTH were/are abysmal playoff performers.

They must not teach how assets work in Canada to think that Marner at 11 mil isnt worth what Marner would be at 6 mil. So taking that thought into account, 2 very good players at 13 mil is worth more than one very good player at 11 mil. NOT TO MENTION, one of the 2 players is the best defensive dman in the league.
