Let me explain it this way LOC is on need for a raise. Wood is a cap dump. Sens avs swap 1st.
Rantenen is due for an extension no doubt he is elite. But you are delusional if you don't think this team is in shambles with landeskog bum knee coming back and toxic nuke staying.
With landy cap on the books they need cap space to resign key free agents.
With the sens trade they get deep in top 6 and there defense gets more depth.
Say what you want but avs gonna be leafs 2.0 tying up all there money

I don't think they will trade rantenen but someone else posted the hurricanes trade of georgiev and 1st for necas 2nd and kochetkov. I just added Morrow which is a highly touted prospect and put rantenen.

I’d rather roll with Georgiev than Kochetkov as a starter, and hopefully Annunen can lessen Georgie’s workload. Additionally, we shouldn’t be getting Necas while Landeskog may potentially come back and with Rantanen still needing an extension next year, though I think you intended for Necas to be his replacement.</div></div>
Annunen in my opinion has proved he can be a good backup and deserves more reps.
I wouldn't mind kochetkov but then you got 2 potential starts. However I watch alot of cane games and kochetkov is starter material in my opinion of course.

No trade partner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>I don’t think they have any intention of bringing back. The press conference at least CMC part was entirely legalese of what he could say. They can’t trade him while suspended, and they can’t terminate his contract while suspended. People are to focused on one sentence “but it is very plausible he will be back with the Avs” and ignore everything else “the obvious question is termination right? At this time that’s not an option” and “assuming he does (get clean and help) and after 6 months we will react on that” and talking about getting the call from the league and how it affected 25 other guys. Behind the scenes I think the conversation is that they are preparing legally to terminate his contract preparing documentation about the incident in the Seattle Hotel, the multiple positive tests, the stupid IG posts, and anything that didn’t make the news. There just is no way unless they lose a termination legal battle (doubtful) or are unable to move his contract he comes back.</div></div>
What happen with the IG post?
I thought the buyout window is only during the summer.

Preds have a pretty good core.

I just think kuznetsov wouldn't hurt for one year. Especially for a playoff push considering saros could be traded.

I think the preds should take the trade. 6 points in 10 games in the playoffs. The preds need that kind of production in order go deep in the playoffs. If carolina retained 1 million I would Def take it. Hes only there for a year. Plus preds could flip him at TDL depending where they at

The guys a huge piece of our offence, but if we were to make a trade to replace him i'd go after someone who performs in the post season and who can stay healthy, ehlers is neither of those.</div></div>
Hell yeah brother. Let's watch nuke disappear again in the playoffs. That's what I'm talking about. Ehlers does perform in the playoffs.
I would say get jake debrusk and only way to get him is to sign him but you can't until you get nukes cap off the books.
But sure let's just keep a distraction on the team. Nuke was fine but once he signed an extension he went downhill.
Funny girard cleaned up his act. Im a laugh when he messes up again and the fans and organization look like dummies for keeping him.

Best course of action is have nuke on LTIR. Then stuff him in the minors and hopeful someone picks him up on waivers. If not keep him in minors. Granted they only save 1 million it's better then nothing. Just wait until a trade partner comes around

Lets do this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>I actually think sending Nuke to the minors is not a terrible idea. I mean, it doesn't save a ton in cap but it might reinforce just how pissed they are. Maybe he asks for a trade; maybe he refuses to report and they terminate his contract. It's another of several options they have.
I can't see Behrens making the jump next year and I'd rather see them dump Manson than Girard. $2.1M is a lot to pay a 4th line C but he was pretty good for them; if they go 4 years, they should be able to shave at least a little off that cap hit. It's going to be interesting to see if Kovy can stick. He obviously didn't get much time to adjust but looked out of place. Once he does get time to adjust, hopefully he can be a solid bottom-six option. Mitts may very well get more. Of course, if Landy doesn't come back they'll have more money to play with; I wonder if they have an internal timeline on his return because if they go beyond UFA not knowing one way or the other, that's going to be tough to deal with.</div></div>
To be honest way I see it is nuke will end up on LTIR. Then he gets sent to minors. Someone will probably claim him. If not stuff him there till a trade happens.
Landeskog is my opinion should just hang his skates up. He won't be the same player and his contract in hindering the avs right now. He should become a coach with the avs system for now.
I think the C should go to Toews. People say mackinnon but he dint want it.
Last thing. Kovalenko did better then expected in my opinion. At times he looked out of place but dude was thrown into a fire with no practice and stuff.
If landy ends up on LTIR they can easily get 2 more top 9 players and a 3rd pairing dmen. I'm a try one with no trades and no landy

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dad</b></div><div>Too many moves, can't see the avs moving away from any of the players you're trading besides Manson. I am curious to see what they do with Rantanen, he looked lost and uninterested almost every game this season</div></div>
Sometimes you gotta shake it up.
Way I see it is.
Girard and manson are cap dumps but still bring talent to another team.
Wood wasn't living up to his contract and I think would thrive with torts. Flyers are looking for a big RW body and rantenen fits that mold.
Georgiev was shaky at best and LOC will be due for an extension and would be solid top 9 player for the sens.
