if you can get him for that and 8 years the leafs would probably do it know the rest are now signed. if he is asking for Mathews money good luck you looking at 13 for 8 years

Well, you cant do 8 year offer sheets. You also dont move zaitzev in a trade for a better defenseman and get a 1st back

If other teams know the leafs are in hot water and have 7 days to find enough cap space to match an offer sheet, they aren't going to trade with them unless they're getting a hell of a deal.
