Burakovsky has as many points in his last twelve games as Nichushkin has this season (7), and about twice as many career points counting playoffs, 152 to 74.

Same draft year and round.

Dallas accepts the heck outta that.

Well if points are the only factor then yeah but I have a feeling Nuch isn't a 0 goal 7 assist forward. Is Orlov a 16 point dman? Probably not. Players have bad seasons all the time. He's better than what hes shown. Its an idea.

There can always be more added like a pick to compensate. The goal here is to trade struggling players for each other. Hoping they can reignite them. Maybe the russian factor could help Nich. Bura could get more ice time with Dallas.

Sure. But I don't think Burakovsky is struggling anymore. That pick is climbing by the week. It's becoming tangible. It's putting on skates and calling itself "Ty Dellandrea." The Caps have the best chance to win a Cup that they've every had, right now. They're not trying to get worse without a massive incentive. There's also no need to include Nichushkin in that trade, now that I think about it. smile

Burakovsky doesn't need to be reignited. He's played a lot better hockey past 3 weeks and the points are just happening to come. I think he's just going to be a somewhat inconsistent 3rd line scoring winger. And that's pretty normal in the NHL. Not everyone is a consistent 50 point guy. If they are, they're getting 4.5+ million

Caps have no interest in Nichushkin. He can skate and plays responsibly, but he can't elevate the puck if his life depended on it. I've watched him play, they guy isn't bad with the puck and he's okay with out it. But I don't think he'll ever be a goal scoring threat again. He's had tons of time to get better there and he hasn't.

Burakovsky is an inconsistent scoring winger. Nickushin simply isn't a scorer at all.

Some do not understand that concept.
