Description
Best course of action for the Leafs is sit on what they have and let them develop. No splash signings, no big trades yet. Tons of players in the minors (Zach Hyman, Viktor Loov etc) will get opportunities to play in the NHL as well.

I do think Peter Holland's rights could be moved, or he could be brought back. Tyler Bozak could also be moved. They should look into the market for a goalie, but I don't see a feasible move yet.

From this group, I see the core group (untouchables) going forward as:

FORWARDS: Kadri, Marner, Matthews, Nylander, Soshnikov and, to an extent, Hyman and van Riemsdyk

DEFENSE: Rielly, Valiev, Zaitsev and, to an extent, Gardiner and Loov

GOALIES: To an extent, one of Bibeau/Sparks (neither feels like a true #1 guy, to me)

No raises for Frankie or Martin? Huge pay cut for Grabs? No Carrick on D? Odd

Didn't know what money to really give Corrado/Marincin, there's obviously cap room for more so whatever makes sense is what they should get.

Grabner is not gonna attract that much attention - he's fast but he doesn't score. Several of his kind (Sean Bergenheim, Curtis Glencross) never even got signed last season; Grabner could be in Europe next season and open room for another prospect. If he doesn't, he'll be making way less in the NHL.

As for Carrick, I could see him starting in the AHL with top minutes. He still needs to work on his game, but he could definitely be on the roster eventually. If he has to go through waivers, then keep him up.
