Some how Yzerman knew Point was good, he traded down to get him. I think he saw him as a sleeper and intended to take him in the third round then moved down to make sure he would get him.
TBH, the only ones that really hurts is Draisaitl taken directly after Reinhart then in 2017 Sergachev was taken directly after Nylander. You and I do not know the talent, but considering there are only 217 draft picks and the Sabres have 30 scouts, I mean what else do they have to do than watch hockey. The first time I saw Gourde, Reilly, Kunin (when he played here in the All American challenge he was not ranked among the top 200 NHL prospects, but was ultimately a first round pick), and McCabe I KNEW they were special. Gourde and Johnson were free agents, what are the thousands of NHL scouts not seeing?

I have zero issue with Reinhart over Draisatil and I do like Olofsson I just hope he turns out
