Interesting trade for NYR. Buch has been very good in the second half. Can't say yes or no without seeing how the draft order shakes out. Edmonton doesn't do it if they move to top three, of course. For NYR it's a lot easier if Tampa wins the cup, and the Jets pick is 26 to 30. But my initial reaction as a Ranger fan is yes.

That's a terrible deal for Edmonton. The 1st moves down probably 20 spots, is that really worth the difference between a 3rd round pick and Buchnevich? If Edmonton gets a top 10 pick (which they likely will) it can already be a NHL ready player. If they get one between 25-31, it's most likely not. Keep your good assets. Buchnevich is too inconsistent anyways

If the Rangers move into the top 3 and the Oilers pick stays around 8 or 9 i would definitely do it. As it stands it would be a tough call. Buch is still young, one of our few highly skilled wingers, and is playing well right now. Good thought provoking trade, nice job.
