Description
Personally, I'd rather have Kakko due to his size and the fact we need true wingers. Center depth is ok in my opinion. Hughes would obviously be a key addition however I prefer bigger players.
With the 2nd 1st round pick, I'd chose Robertson. He's another big/solid d man. He would remain with junior team until he's 20.

I believe our goaltending depth is poor, so I would aim to take a few of these goalies this draft. Spencer Knight is ranked highest yet these guys all have better numbers, look it up on elite prospects.
Sakic makes a small splash during free agency if Dzingel doesn't want to stay in Columbus. I don't believe he'd be worth more than this but I'm likely wrong. Either way, if you think he'd be worth more, let me know. Other targets could be Ferland or Donskoi if available. They all fit Sakic's demographic.
Timmins, assuming he's fully healthy, should start the season with the Eagles. He can get his game back and come up when ready.

I think that Konovalov is the most underrated player of this draft class. He's playing in the KHL and still putting up numbers. I know that he's 20, and realize that it hurts his draft stock, but none of these other goalies would be able to go into the KHL or the AHL and put up the type of numbers that Konovalov has.

I don't understand how he wasn't taken 2 years and even last year. His numbers are so good!

Any chance he is just not interested in coming to North America?

Hypothetically, let's say the Avs like Kakko better than Hughes (I think Kakko would be a perfect fit) but they're picking 1st overall. Let's just say the kings are picking 2. How much would a team have to give up to jump from 2 to 1 to pick Hughes? I would think kings would have to give up their other 1st (likely in the 25+ range).

I say, if Sakic is thinking the same as I am, (and assuming Ottawa's pick ends up being 1st overall) he should make it public that he's going to pick Hughes. That may spark other teams to present their offers for that pick and he'd listen.
If LA wanted that 1st to ensure they got Hughes, I'd be asking for their 1st rounder (so we'd pick Kakko anyway), the Leafs' 1st rounder, their 2nd round as well as Akil Thomas. Maybe overkill? Sakic doesn't do a deal unless it is!
