Description
Realy need to read the description on this one. Seen a couple articles on this now and in my head it makes no sense. But hey why not go down the rabbit hole and see how the chips fall?

The rumour in the articles is Schultz + JJ for PK . . . I know it seems off by a mile even when factoring in PK's cap and reputation. But again lets see what can be done.

Switch Hornqvist for Bjugstad and you’re looking good. Dallas doesn’t have the need for an aging RW when they’ve got Rads and (likely) Zucc in their top-6. Bjugstad brings the smart defensive game that Dallas would be losing by trading Faksa.

so if they just seem willing to sell pk for half price this deal still isn't getting it done. why would they ever take Johnson back. giving him for Shultz and a second is already improbable but add dead weight of Johnson and its not close. if they are trying to swap him for a cheaper less skilled dman they can do better than this.

I am aware and I agree. But apparently they see value in Johnson as a 3rd pair, for physical and shot blocking D. The articles are without the pick. If it were just schultz and a 2nd pens should do it. Just cause cap.

Pernell is a total waste of a trade and a locker room cancer.

9 million salary cap hit for what? An over rated player.
The only way this deal ever works is when Nashville is swallowing a lot of cap hit back.
Honestly I would consider it if it was like Maatta and JJ for Pernell. But that's about as far as I go. The penguins don't need him and they don't want that cap hit with his issues.
