Wish teams did bad contract player swaps more often.
It'd be interesting to see how this would work out for both teams.

It's a noble idea - try to swap a slower, older and overpaid veteran winger for a similarly overpaid center to fill the much-advertised position of need the Sabres have at 2C. However, Turris failed in Nashville to be an effective 2C on a considerably more talented roster so the odds of him providing any more value to the Sabres in lieu of Okposo remaining on the roster are slim to none IMO.

The more plausible swap of anchor contracts that is being bandied about in multiple fan posts is Neal for Okposo. The odds of Neal providing more scoring than Okposo seem better than they were for Turris but there's a different dynamic involved in that swap that has to do with each player's presence inside the locker room. By all media accounts, Okposo is well-liked and respected whereas Neal has had some run-ins with coaches and teammates in the past.

Thanks for you comments. This is an interesting concept, I could be happy with Turris, Neal or Okposo. I know what Kyle brings, Turris would give us a center and Neal would provide Stanley Cup experience.

The Neal-for-Okposo is the more likely of the two, if such a swap were to even occur, because of Botterill's familiarity with Neal while both were in Pittsburgh.
