Description
Assuming an $83M cap

One deal and a team friendly, but not too friendly, 1 year deal for Marner to let Marleau stay for one last shot at the cap. I'm not a Sparks fan so I took a chance on a 1 year deal with Mason to see if there is anything left & got a 4th from Columbus assuming Bobrovsky is gone.

I like the moves.
1) Only thing I see with Marner taking the one year team friendly and then putting up 100 points and commanding around 12-13
2) I think you can get Manson with Kapanen and a pick, which in my mind is the better move. I believe Nylander is a 80 (maybe even 90) point player with a full camp.

I doubt Marner would want a 1-year deal as the risk is just too great that he'd have a knee-to-knee and lose value. There's also the lockout to consider and none of these guys want to be without a contract that runs through to the next CBA.

Sorry to rain on your dream of resurrecting Steve Mason's career, but he didn't suit up once anywhere over the past 12 months. He's a happily retired old goalie.

Ducks decline, they are not trading there only right shot dman, for a overpaid floater.

The whole idea of this is speculative so of course there are "doubts" but my feeling is Marner wants to stay and the players want Marleau to stay, the Mason thing is irrelevant I just hate Sparks and Mason has never formally retired

Anaheim finished last in the NHL in goals last year, they would be ecstatic to get Nylander
