Maybe its just me, but I dont see the potential in Greenway that I see in Kapanen. He'll be a fine player, but there is a (small) possibility that Kap turns into a solid top 6 guy, and at the very least will be fantastic on the Leafs 3rd line. I just see Greenway as a big middle six guy without that top end potential of Kappy.

Basically i'd want a bit more coming back (maybe a 2nd?)

I think Kap is very overrated. He's extremely fast which is always good but he disappeared in the 2nd half and I think only looks like a top 6 winger when he has a super elite centre. I really think Kapanen would be better with a playmaking centre which isn't really TO's MO. They have 3 goal scorers down the middle in Tavares, Matthews and Kadri and what they have trouble with is having their small speeding wingers get to the rebounds or create havoc in front. Greenway skates very well for a big man and has the size to do the stuff that is needed. I think Greenway would look great next to Matthews and would score a lot of goals off little rebounds in front.

What about keeping young in development Kapanen and trade Kadri while he still holds some shares.....

Oh I agree completely on the fit. I'm just saying that there does seem to be another level to Kapanen that, if gotten to, would make this trade look very bad, very quickly.

Isn't Kadri at low value right now? Wait till he rebounds before realising that all comparable players (even in his down years) make WAY more than Kadri.
