Again, not saying MTL should do it, but looking for feedback.

How many player can be drafted with 4 x 1st round and getting a impact player? Yes MTL will short 4 x first rounder. Normally those should be use for rental or fixing the team prior the playoff run, if the team is in the race and at maturity. Technically they are not there yet, but how many Marner will be available with a team at cap.

Rantanen, COL have the cap to sign him. At 22 years old, Marner would be the player that I would invest and in 7 years, he will be still in his prime at the end. Why investing in a player that in 7 years, would be in his mid 30's. Marner will offer 7 years of his prime. Offer can be more if needed to a certain point. That could apply for Aho, Point or Meier, but I think their respective team will match the offer. TOR don't have much space. Laine would be interesting option as well

MTL will need to dump cap after 19-20 somehow and restructure the future to sign Domi. With Marner, Price and Weber contract, Bergevin will need to be cautious about Mid range salary to marginal player. He will need to take smaller risk with shorter term, which is not a bad idea either.
