Description
Tampa trade kind of benefits both sides. Wennberg seems to excel in systems that don't require a lot of physical play. Tampa could be a very good spot for him. Murray though injury prone would be a huge upgrade on the left side which they need to strengthen this offseason. Also including Callahan gives the Lightning a little more cap flexibility as opposed to buying him out.

Jackets get Johnson who fits perfectly as a 2C and is priced well for that position.

Jackets decide not to sign back Duchene as they feel giving up their 1st round pick in 2020 is too dicey of a move. Instead opt to sign Kevin Hayes and Nyquist. With Hayes and the acquisition of Johnson, allows Dubois to back to playing his natural position of LW. Thus, strengthens the team. Nyquist is a good deal at this price and would be a great bridge to younger players in our organization.

As far as Bemstrom and Texier go, I feel they will start in Cleveland and be brought up if they develop well there.

Good trade for both sides IMO. But I thought Dubois looked great playing center, a solid two way guy IMO!

Tampa is trying to dump cap, by the time they re-sign Murray, they’re almost in the same spot as before. Also, cmon man, Dubois is never going back to wing. And I’m assuming you missed the end of the season and playoffs if you think Texier starts the year in Cleveland. Duchene >>>>> an undecided 1st round pick. Just awful all the way around.

Actually, Tampa could sign Murray for around 4 to 5 mil. If they bridge Point, they could save approximately 3 to 4 mil and now they would have strengthened the left side of their defense. Now all of this may not happen anyway.

But about Texier, in the playoffs, he showed he has some work to do on his defensive game. The interesting thing here is he has only played 9 games and if he plays one more his ELC kicks in. The Jackets may opt for him to go to Cleveland and work on his game.

Lol. Wennberg has an abysmal contract considering his regress of production. Tampa already has Palat who's in the same spot, but at least he plays a physical game.

Oh, and why would Tampa even want Wennberg? We got Stamkos/Point/Cirelli at C + one between Paquette or Verhaeghe for the 4th line.
Plus the return you get is way higher than what you give.
(+Tampa is in need of a RHD, we already have too many LHD)
