The Habs trade is unbelievably bad. Danault was one of the better shut down centers and is not a 3C. Also Maatta is a cap dump.

Maatta would be in your top 4 so I dont think he's necessarily a cap dump.. Bjustad replaces Danault.
So young top 4 dman (what you need) for Danault makes sense...
2W or 3C for a 2nd? Okay maybe a stretch a 2nd but definitely a 3rd..

Bjugstad is so much worse than Danault it's not even close. Danault put up 50 points playing against other teams top lines every night and Bjugstad put up 30 in a 3rd line role. Also I'd much rather play Kulak who is probably better (and much cheaper) than Maatta.

Okay so like I said before... Danault and change it to a 3rd for Maatta and Jugs.. we throw in a 4th, done deal

That's still terrible my man. Montreal has no reason to try and downgrade Danault and acquire a depth dman on a terrible contract.
