1.might as well buy smith out.
2. Nichushkin would make sense on 4th line over Callahan
3. Have enough Dmen in system, rather try and get a young C/W in Arizona system

1. I'm not buying anyone out when I have almost $8mil in cap space. If I needed the roster spot I'd stick him in the minors.
2. Maybe, but he had zero goals in 57 games last so it would really be up to how they look in camp.
3. Could do that too. Emberson plays the right side, which isn't as deep and I like him as a prospect.

Dallas does not need Shatty. They need more of a defensive/ 2way d man and the rangers shouldn't even trade him with his value being so low. Just gotta wait for him to be healthy and get back to form.

I agree that Shattenkirk's value is extremely low right now and it would be better to wait until the deadline. Without retention he probably has negative value.
