Nope. They should extend him. But if he says no, Calgary’s 1st unprotected next year and one of their young studs in a sign and trade where he extends with Calgary.

He's not accepting a sign and trade to a team like Calgary. Same with Hayes. These guys grew up playing in NY, with the Rangers. Now people expect(ed) them to agree to sign and trade deals to Western Canada, Ottawa, and Arizona. Not going to happen.

@Josh I’d rather keep him but I doubt they’ll get him to sign long term based on current prices. Colorado makes a lot of sense too.
