Description
We can always buy him out. It's actually a very reasonable buyout cap hit. I'm curious what every other team wanted. A LD defensive Dman is obviously a need the Hawks. This might very well have been the only reasonable thing Stan found in the market place.

I'm still drafting the best available. Bowen Byram. And then we'll see what Gus does this year. 16 teams will be interested in him come the TDL.

I'm not convinced Byram is the best available. Fairly certain it's Turcotte or Byram at this point. Not sure why you're convinced Byram is the best.

I tend to agree, but also disagree at the same time. I 100% agree that if the Hawks are convinced it's Turcotte...I'll back that decision. Best Available is my point. I'm happy with either to be honest. Hawks fans are very lucky to have won the lottery. I just see what Byram does in the playoffs and winners elevate their game. That's what Byram does. Lead ALL players in the WHL in points at 17 years old...I guess happy birthday to him because just a few days ago he turned 18.

I get it. I'm the same way. Unfortunately watching him play first-hand isn't something i have the luxury of. Reading some non-scouts opinions from people that have seen him play tend to universally question his defensive play and use of the body. He's not the biggest guy people tend to think of him as he's 6'-1/4" his defensive play has me wondering if he is that number 1. We've heard doughty style... And weve heard Morgan Reilly. While Reilly is offensively gifted he's probably not ideally a number 1. It's a tough call.

If you look at the combine by both Turcotte and Byram, they're really close. If Byram is the best D, Turcotte is the best forward. Turcotte has been called a Toews type with a complete 200' game and no questions he can't stick at center.
