2 days ago I would have thought that was a good signing but with philly overpaying hayes I think they hold out for more.. sakic isnt really into signing older players to full term

Whilst I like Pavelski as a player, I can't see the Avs paying that much for him. RFA contracts are pretty close to what I'd expect, though I'd love the Avs to get Rants tied up a little cheaper, but don't see it happening. Not much wiggle room there on the cap either, and Joe seems to like a little bit of space.

I'm not opposed to a Pavelski signing at all, but I don't think it makes sense for the Avs to go over maybe 6M. Although the term is nice and short, I'd rather bolster fwd depth by signing a Ferland or Donskoi. Especially when there's still uncertainty around Compher and Kerfoot's ability to step into a larger role.

Yeah I wouldn't sign him beyond 2 years. I think Compher steps it up this year, given more minutes in the top 6. I think Kerfoot has hit his ceiling.
