Description
Ok.. so before I get the standard LOL, ROFL... I’m crazy... not in your wildest dreams... here are my views on getting Edmonton back respectability...
1. I’ve moved Draisitl, Benning to Philadelphia for Konecny, Patrick and a 1st. Sign Konecny to a bridge contract.
2. I’ve moved RNH and Joel Perrson to New Jersey for McLeod, wood and 2nd rounder
3. Russell to buffalo retaining just under 50% of his remaining salary for a 4th round pick. Not to bad a deal for a vet Pick can be negotiable.
4. Puljujarvi, Kassian and a 4th to Toronto for Kapanen. Pick can be negotiable.
5. Swapped 1st pick with the Avs and added Jones. With the two picks took Cozens and Broberg.
6. With the added cap space added Dzingel, Lee, Benn and McElhinney.
7. I could not get any takers on Lucic, Manning and Brodziak so they have been sent down until a time comes that they can be moved or a roster spot opens up.

So now everyone can tell me I’m crazy!!! LOL

Jones and the 8th overall for the 16th overall??

Lucic has a nmc. Can't be buried.

Buffalo passes on Russell.

The PHI and NJ trades are awful. nowhere near the value you could get for nuge and drai and also doesn't address any needs and causes more holes in the lineup.

Lucic has nmc so he has to stay in the lineup

Col deal and subsequent draft picks make no sense cause we do not need another damn dman. we need skilled forwards that can score. Colorado doesn't give up the #4 unless they got something huge in return.

Can easily find takers for russel's full contract cause teams need dmen and the FA market is becoming thin in that category. Tor also would decline unless there was literally no offer better available (which is unlikely) even edmonton wouldn't do cause they'd be losing another RW which they can't afford to do

The Lee signing is a massive overpayment IMO. Overall not great... Try again

I have disagree with your thought... the two trades are more then the players involved in the trade... it allowed you to get Lee and Dzingel also... 6 players and draft pick.. all can play in your line up today...
the trade with the Avs is just a swap of picks in the same draft... there moving down 4 spots, I meant to select the Ottawa pick, not their actual... and their getting a good prospect in return... many teams have done it before...
I mean.. this a BETTER team then Edmonton had last year... it’s not relying on McDavis to carry the offence!!! This line up makes them a playoff team now and for many years moving forward... maybe a bit of a tweak to the defence as it goes along... but this is better.

Well you’re right about one thing. You will definitely not be relying on McDavid for the offence, since he will not be on the roster after he demands a trade after the draft.
