Description
Two more swings at a cup for this core. Everyone has to take a short term paycut to make this work. Major crossroads in two years. K. Miller is a good soldier but someone has to be moved. GM Sweeney has already made comments that it is unlikely Krug or Backes are moved. Likely MOJO isn't resigned unless Backes is moved. All rfa/ufa's get a more realistic market rate contract without one of MOJO or Backes on the roster.

Could not disagree with you more. He was clearly a good fit. His concussion history is blown way out of proportion. He has had two concussions the year Marchand elbowed him. Probably cause he came back too soon. I think he also had one in his 2nd year.

Unfortunately just about everyone in the league has had them. He got lit up and bruised his lung - not a concussion. Then he didn't miss a shift after the high hit in STL.

Debrusk has missed time for concussions and I don't think you feel the same about the Bruins extending him.

You think they can get him for 2ys 3m? I highly doubt it. Do you want him at 5 X 5? I’d pass. I like him. But there are other options.

For 3M x 2years Mojo would head back to Washington and they'd fit him in plus for more + term although cap in DC is very tight.

I think he might take 2x6 or 3x5. He is not taking less than his current salary. Best case scenario is the same.

Seems like a guy who wants to win & there are probably 10 teams that fall into the category as legit contenders & Toronto can't really afford him, Tampa can't really afford him, Pitt can't really afford him - CBJ can, but the Bruins just ran through them and they will likely lose at least two of Panarin, Bobrovsky and Duchene. Winnipeg has no money for FA, SJ has no money. The Isles are still a couple years away IMO, Vegas has no money. Calgary or STL are the only real possibilities, but both of those teams would put themselves in a tough position the following year.
