Lots going on here but I have done it as I've been an Oiler fan since 79 and want to see the pride come back, so please bare with me...…
Andres Lee and Gustav Nyquist signed to UFA deals 4 and 3 yrs respectively. Dollar amounts may be a bit high they will add scoring relief to a team that relied on McDavid and Draisaitl to generate most of the offence.

Connor Brown and Mark Jankowski added through trade to assembly a quality 3rd line along with Gagnier. 4th line with limited ice time will be a work in progress but will start with this and change as required.. there are players that can move in and out in Bakersfield.

2 three way trades...

first one involving Lucic to Vancouver and retaining 1.5 million and a 2nd round pick for Eriksson. Moved Erikkson to Ottawa to fill their cap floor issue for a 3rd round pick. Overall I retain 1.5 million of Lucic contract and move back a round in the draft from 2nd to 3rd. Overall my goal was to move Lucic and this was a cheaper way than buying him out. Make sense? who knows !!!
Next three way trade was Larsson to Toronto for Kadri and then sending Kadri to Calgary, yes Calgary, for Hamonic and Jankowski. This trade helped the blue line or keep it equal and added a third line center that could contribute to the offence a bit and really allowed me cap flexibility moving forward.

As per his request, moved Puljujarvi along with Benning and 4th round pick I acquired from Florida for Connor Brown and Jeremy Bracco.

Moved Russell to Florida and retained 1million and received a 4th round pick in return that I sent to Toronto.

Acquired DeMelo from Ottawa for Persson and Samorukov. Feel with the draft of Broberg their is a bit extra defensive prospects.

Signed Broberg and Lavoie to entry level contract and sent them back for development.
Kaihra was signed to a 2yr RFA deal and with be in the 4th line mix.

Finally, Signed McElhinney to a 2yr UFA deal to fill out the goaltending.

Lee is getting 6 minimum and may well get 7mil per. Hasn't resigned with the isles because he wants 7 years and the Isles want 5.

I did one similar to this before with him signed at 7 million and many told me he wouldn’t get that much... I personally think he is 6 to 7 and 5 to 7 years.

If Eriksson waives his ntc, twice, there is a chance Ottawa make the trade after July 1st.

They'd owe Erikkson 1 mil for the 19-20 season and buy him out next year.

For 7.666 mil they would be over the floor this year for 1 mil cash, have 5+ mil cap hit next year and 3+ mil in cap hit the following year. Plus get Samoruv and Persson.

Probably have to add to get DeMelo...

I woundnt mind keeping Loui and trying to find something for Sekera to open up some more space, Edmonton have some good prospect D that could easily take his place.
