So this is just an exploratory look... Are the leafs better without Tavares?
I guess depending on who the trade partner is and who has the cap money and assets to trade for him... The Aves have both the money, the assets and want a cup now... so lets trade with them.

1) JT to the Aves for Landeskog, Barrie and Compher… it might work

2) Kapanen, Zaitzev and 3rd round pick to Calgary for Hamonic, Jankowski.

3) Brown to Edmonton for Pulji and a 3rd pick. Pulji signed and send to LA for a 3rd pick.

Are they better with 3 players for 13 mil or one player at 11 mil. Yes. Would Colorado make that trafe ?? Probably not...

I think The Aves would not turn away to quickly!!! They would give it some serious thought!!! McKinnon , Tavares down the middle is pretty good!!
