Description
Honestly, I don't think the Avs should go after the big names. Ofc, adding Panarin would be great but it's very unlikely he'll sign anyway.

Avs have plenty of cap space and could improve their middle 6 as what their intention is.

Anders Lee would be the most likely FA target since the Avs are trying to improve secondary scoring. Lee has a 14.4% S% and scored at least 25 goals in 4 of his 5 full time seasons.

I think Zuccarello will fit in great and would boost the 2nd line of the Avs.

A 2C is necessary. I see quite some people put Jost on the 2nd line but he hasn't showed that he's ready. Give him another season on the 3rd line to improve and take the next step. Avs mentioned that they're willing to trade Barrie in order to improve the offense. Kadri has proven himself as a 2C at Toronto. Not sure how this trade would look like (maybe they want Compher in the deal as a player who's ready to play bottom 6 minutes on their team?). Anyway, there aren't a lot of centers available and Kadri's contract is very team friendly.

Kerfoot carried his line last season and should get the job as 3C. Vegas are in cap trouble and I think Avs should target Gusev, who could be a nice fit at the 3rd line.

Pirri can improve the 4th line. Will be a cheap addition to the team and if it doesn't work out, Kamenev or Bowers could get a shot at 4C.

I expect the defense would look like this if Barrie gets traded. Byram might get some time to develop given the fact that the Avs have plenty LD. I'm aware of the injuries so Byram might get a chance immediately.
Timmins can make the team this season and might be on the 3rd pair.

I don't think there's room for Compher. OTT gets a decent middle 6 guy and take Barberio

Agreed. I'm also very against the Compher trade, he seems perfectly suited to take on a much bigger role at 5v5 and on the Pk now with Soderberg gone

Oh yeah that is just giving him away, Teams would throw more than a 3rd round pick at compher if he was available. Barberio isnt a bad contract either that you have to package up with Compher, put him into the minors and call it a day.
UpsideDownQue liked this.
