Description
I think CHI did a decent job this year, so far. They had to improve their team D, faceoffs, PK, add some grit, and maybe get a reliable back-up goalie. They did all that, without taking away from their goal scoring ability. They only loss Kahun (about 15 goal producer), but got Shaw (about the same or better).

Now, that was needs and CHI did address them. But I can't help by wonder, who will fill that 1LW or 2RW spot? I like Saad, but feel like he had no chemistry with Kane and was not very good with Cat either. 3rd line is perhaps too rich for his $6m hit. Perhaps its time for him to go.
I really think CHI should bring Gusev in a trade

Also I feel like, depending on how well he performs during the year, CHI could potentially trade Maatta at TDL. Why, not with all those rookies coming in soon.

Good thoughts!

I would keep the Debrincat/Strome/Perlini line together. Perlini just needs some consistency. It's the same thing Strome was going through except Strome received consistency and Perlini didn't. Perlini's ceiling is high.

As for the #1LW...It'll be a trial by fire IMO. Kubliak will get the 1st chance due to his play in a professional league and at worlds. If not him...I'm actually really high on Kurashev. He was very noticeable in Hawks camp last year and a hat trick in the U20 is no small feat...even if it was against Denmark. Both Kubliak and Kurashev have a snipe to compliment Kane's.

From what I've ready about Kirby is that he's a true center. I don't envision him playing wing. I'd put him between BOTH Saad and Shaw and watch the strong cycle game they have. Kirby is young, but at 6'4" 200 lbs...he'll learn to excel as a young guy there. AT THE VERY LEAST...Saad/Shaw won't let anything happen to him.

I think Dahlstrom is on the outs and maybe AA too. The TDL will be very interesting. Gus on a 1 year UFA. Crow/Lehner on 1 year UFA. I guess it depends on how the Hawks are doing in February. They'll be fun to watch!

Kahuna-Maattata is very funny. Pissed I didn't think of it myself. Did you come up with that or hear it somewhere else?

I've seen something similar somewhere already. Maybe Big Kahuna for Maattata, or similar, but yeah, its out there.
