Wings have zero interest is taking marginal players for picks. Both players split time between the NHL and the AHL and had only a couple of goals total last year. Plus both are UFA' s next year. If you want to dump players and cap hit then you can not ask the other team to give up better picks than you are offering

Let's assume that the price for Toronto to dump one year of Marleau's contract was an overpayment. Still, the lesson is that the price to dump two years of Lucic's contract would be at least a second and a third, even with that retention.

Las Vegas says yes.

Steve Yzerman would give you a sixth for that entire package.

100% agree. Lucic was obviously near done when Bos traded him to LA - never understood why Edm signed him to that long a contract.
