It helps them clear cap, but looking at it strictly from a VGK viewpoint then yeah, getting back Bryan Rust for Gusev & a 2nd is not a good return. Would play well there and they can clear a bit of cap space sending Eakin over to OTT, but not at the cost of losing Gusev and a pick. I'll try to tinker with it

yeaaaah.. initially my idea was to use the Gusev proposal and shed cap space but after I read the first comment it makes sense it's a bad tradeoff for VGK. I think I was more worried about OTT accepting haha
