Description

Have a feeling this is what Jim does to A.) Give Schaller a fresh start and us a bit of wiggle room. And B.) Ice the best team possible to make the playoffs while keeping our depth. If we move this one contract out for a pick or an AHL contract and put Roussel on LTIR we have space for this season. We are bound to get an injury or two on top of Rouss which then furthers our cap relief to help cover any bonus money earned by the young blood. If that doesnt work, we swap a contract at the deadline for more relief.

No It would be his last RFA year. Good conract for both sides, Pays Brock while giving him a chance to earn a bigger contract earlier. And gets Brock in at a lower avg over our current 4yr window while allowing us to resign or trade him later.

I think your general idea of the post is right, but you’re missing Goldobin (still enough cap space to sign him though). I think Eriksson’s unmoveable unless VAN adds significant sweeteners or takes back another bad contract, but i’m hoping Sutter can show well enough that they could deal him mid season before Roussel comes back.

I dont see where Goldy fits in this lineup unless we demote Biega, but I really dont see that happening. I agree we should trade sutter, but I dont think it happens until next offseason when his full NTC is downgraded. In my opinion, Sutter is going turn it around with a couple good wingers.
